An enchanted fable inspired by a real Cunning Man John Harries (c.1785 – 1839) Despite being a trained physician John Harries claimed to be able to heal man or beast with magical powers. “A rural practitioner of the dark arts becomes the target of a small town conspiracy. Pressed into a corner he draws on his powers to avoid a hefty fine. This is a beautifully shot and peculiar English Folk tale that very effectively modernises anxieties over the countryside and the folk who live there. It’s also oddly charming with great performances and an eye for the stark beauty of the countryside” Festival Awards 2019/20 Bafta Longlisted Best Director New Renaissance Festival UK Detroit SheTown Festival USA Imagine International Festival, New York USA Unrestricted View Film Festival, London UK Best Director Nomination List of Season 2019 Awards January 2020 East Europe International Film Festival 2020 Best Short Film Exit6 Festival UK Lift Off Online London Independent Film Festival Hallucinations Collectives, Lyon France Best International Short Idyllwild Film Festival CA Best Fantasy Film WorldFest – Houston Remi Winner Dreamers of Dreams UK Official Selection The Aesthetica Short Film Festival, New York 2019 Texas Women’s Festival, August 2019 Fright Festival, UK August 2019 Brooklyn Women’s Festival, August 2019 Film Quest, Utah USA September 2019 L’etrange Festival, Paris September 2019 Underwire Festival, London September 2019 Buffalo International Festival, October 2019 Morbido Fest, Mexico October 2019 Eve Film Festival, Ottawa October 2019 Horror Haus Fest Film Festival, Los Angeles October 2019 Margate Film Festival, UK October 2019 Silver Lake Shorts, Los Angeles November 2019 Berlin British Shorts 13th Lichtspeilklub, January 2020 Norfolk Film Festival, 2019 Cinequest Film and Creativity Festival, February 2020 Newport Beach, CA 2020 WorldFest – Houston, 2020 Hallucinations Collectives, Lyon France 2020 Ontario International Film Festival, 2020
