Agile Films Camera Assistant | Editor - Assistant
I started working at Agile Films under an internship program which lasted for six months. After that period, I got hired full time and carried on working with the company as a camera and editing assistant. My main responsibilities were assisting the camera crew on video shoots for commercials, corporate content and music videos. While on a shoot, I would be in charge of keeping the camera equipment organized and help out the camera operator and the 1st camera assistant setting up the camera accordingly to the specifications of each shot. When at the office, I would assist the video editors managing the rushes from the shoots and doing preselections of the images to be used on a video.

Arte Institute Camera Operator | Editor | Producer
I collaborated with Arte Institute between 2014 - 2019 as a video editor and in loco producer - based in London, UK. I was in charge of organizing the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival in London every year and editing some of the video content for Arte Institute's online channels, as well as maintaining the organization's website, writing a monthly newsletter and manage the submissions for the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival. Some of the main events I got to work on were the 'Iberian Suite: global arts remix' at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC in 2015, 'Portugal in Soho' in NYC in 2018, the Summer Stage in the Central Park NYC in 2018 and RHI Initiative in Portugal in 2019. Arte Institute is a non-profit organization founded on April 11, 2011, that promotes culture and showcases art from Portugal. It is a space that offers a creative environment for Portuguese artists in the field of art, literature, music, dance and film. The Arte Institute provides a space for inter-cultural inspiration and is a catalyst for an innovative artistic dialogue between the many communities in New York and the Portuguese artists. This environment fosters a unique exchange between traditional and non-traditional views of how art can bridge audiences with different cultural background.

Keepsake (2019) Camera - 2nd Assistant
Keepsake is Written and Directed by Helena Coan. Starring Patsy Ferran (God's Own Country) and Alan Williams (The Crown). A young woman stealing booze for her abusive boyfriend stops to help an elderly man to get home, unaware of a life-changing discovery that awaits her. Keepsake is a brief snapshot into the worlds of two very different people. Ordinarily, these characters would walk straight past each other, without any consideration of the realities that they are both living. On a still night, in this nameless town, fate concedes that they do meet each other, and the repercussions of this introduction allow for a cathartic experience that both characters so desperately needed. We want to remind audiences that the kindness of strangers does still exist.

Lascivious Grace (2017) Camera - 2nd Assistant
Demi-Lea Sadler (Ronke Adekoluejo), a medical doctor, and her husband Will (Henry Garrett), a struggling novelist, are desperately trying to have children. When Anne Harris (Jane Stanton), Demi-Lea's best friend who also happens to be Will's ex, brings the mysteriously handsome Freddy Young (Maximilian Befort) over for dinner one night, dreams start coming true in ways unexpected. Lascivious Grace is a dramatic short inspired by the themes and characters of Shakespeare's collection of 154 sonnets about a love triangle involving a Poet, a Fair Youth and a Dark Lady, which was published in 1609. In 2017, over four hundred years later, writer and director Nadia Cavelle devised a narrative that draws on the sonnets to form a lyrical, cinematic exploration of the three major hallmarks of the human experience: love, lust and legacy. The film blurs the line between reality and fiction, inviting the audience to engage with one or all of the themes explored.

Índice Médio de Felicidade (2017) Video Assist
Daniel had a plan, a sort of journal of the future, written in a notebook. Sometimes he went back to rectify small things, but still, life seemed pretty easy and happiness too. But, all of a sudden, everything changed for the worse: Portugal collapsed and Daniel lost his job. He couldn't afford to pay the mortgage for his house any more. His wife, also unemployed, left with his children, searching for better opportunities. His two best friends are absent: one, Xavier, has been locked inside his house for 12 years, obsessed with statistics and deeply depressed by the fact that the mutual aid website they created has proved a complete failure; the other one, Almodôvar, was arrested in a desperate attempt to mend his life. When thinking of his children and of Almodôvar's child, Daniel tries to understand what kind of hope is left for future generations. And he doesn't want to give up. In spite of the wreck that his life becomes, his will to rebuild everything seems unshakable. Because the Present is meaningless, if we don't anticipate a Future.
