Couronne Nord Associate Producer | Executive Producer | Producer
Since its creation in 2012 by Julie Groleau, Patrice Laliberté and Guillaume Laurin, Couronne Nord, the multidisciplinary production company has been providing us with stories as poignant as they are original, making sure to share their oblique outlook on the world. As a way to begin its now impressive career, Couronne Nord first dabbled in short films (Patrice Laliberté’s Overpass, Best Canadian Short Film at TIFF 2015, Guillaume Laurin’s Intenselefun, Jean-François Leblanc’s Landgraves), and then theatre (Philippe Boutin’s Détruire, nous allons). Banking on new ways of telling and disseminating stories, in 2016 Couronne Nord co-founds Plein(s) Écran(s), the very first film festival taking place entirely on Facebook. A year later, the trio launches the first season of Game(r) as a Facebook stream, a series which has since garnered more than 2 million views. In 2018, Couronne Nord goes as far as using a Google Pixel 2 to shoot Très belle journée, the first Quebec feature film using a cellphone as a camera. In 2019, the young company makes history by producing Jusqu’au déclin, the first Quebec feature film to be entirely funded by Netflix, set to come out on the famous streaming platform later this year. Couronne Nord’s three founders work hard to produce strong, generous pieces, furthering a long tradition of Quebec cinema.

The decline (Jusqu'au déclin) (2020) Producer
As a way to prepare for disasters, family man Antoine attends a training program on survivalism given by Alain, at his self-sufficient retreat. Apprehending a natural, economical or social breakdown, the group goes through drills meant to prepare them for apocalypses of all types. But the catastrophe waiting for them is nothing like what they anticipated.
