A Wait is a short film set by a lake in Massachusetts. 14 year old Beau must fend for herself for 24 hours when her grandma is delayed. A Wait plunges us into the push-pull between the desperation to grow up and the uncertainty of each new frontier to face, exploring the fragility and resilience of self at this liminal age. Shot between Great Barrington and Housatonic over a long weekend in August, using local resources and crew. Post-production took place in London. hoping Chen (Ilo Ilo, the Breaking Ice) edited, Stefan Smith did sound, and the score is by Arthur Jeffes of Penguin Cafe. We have had a wonderful response at screenings so far, selected to the Berlin British Shorts Festival in January and Short.Sweet.Film.Festival, in Cleveland, OH, in February.
